Efficiency of a Heat Pump refer the data of COP. It stands for Coefficient of Performance.

COP = Useful heating output / Electrical energy input
In simple terms, it shows how much heat the unit produces per unit of electricity consumed.
For example, a COP of 4.0 means the heat pump delivers 4 kW of heat while consuming only 1 kW of electricity.
Why COP Matters
- Electric resistance heating has a COP close to 1.0
- Standard air-source heat pumps: COP ≈ 2.5–4.0, Kolant’s air-source heatpump average cop≈4.8
- Ground-source & water-source heat pumps: COP typically reaches 4.0–6.0 under rated conditions, Kolant’s Ground-source heatpump cop≈5.9(full load), 9.7(patial load)
