Nov. 20, 2007 – The renovation of ASHRAE headquarters is expected to be completed in June 2008 at an estimated cost of $5.4 million. Once completed, the renovated building in Atlanta will feature two separate HVAC systems as part of its role as living lab.

Level one of the building will be equipped with air-cooled multi-split variable refrigerant flow fan coil units with zoned inverter-driven outdoor heat pumps. Ground source direct expansion heat pumps will be installed for heating and cooling level two.

ASHRAE plans to apply for a LEED Gold certification under the U.S. Green Building Councils Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system.
