Most air source heat pumps work with very poor efficiency or even can not work when the environment temperature is lower than -10℃.
EVI stands for Enhanced Vapor Injection, an advanced heating technology is an innovation in the compressor and the refrigerant circulation.
The heat pump uses a special EVI scroll compressor with a vapor injection port. An economizer or flash tank splits the refrigerant into two streams:

- Main flow: continues to the evaporator to absorb heat.
- Injection flow: enters the compressor’s middle chamber to enhance compression.
The injected vapor increases mass flow rate, reduces compressor discharge temperature, and improves heating output and efficiency.
The EVI technology can get the following advantages:
1 Reliable running under environment temperature -25℃ (Kolant’s EVI heat pump can work even at -35℃)
2 Getting much higher water temperature during low environment temperature Heating capacity up to 40% higher than normal heat pumps
3 COP 10%-20% higher during low environment temperature
