It can extract heat from natural sources including ambient air, groundwater, soil, or even waste heat, then upgrade this low-grade heat to usable high-temperature heat for residential and commercial heating, domestic hot water, and space cooling.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Operating on the reverse refrigeration cycle, a heat pump uses a small amount of electricity to drive its compressor, fan, and circulation system. The refrigerant inside absorbs heat outdoors, compresses it to raise its temperature, and releases the heat indoors. In cooling mode, the process is reversed to remove heat from buildings.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Compared with traditional electric heaters, gas boilers, and air conditioners, heat pumps achieve much higher energy efficiency. Typically, every 1 kilowatt of electricity input can output 3 to 5 kilowatts of heat energy, greatly reducing power consumption and operating costs.
