\u00e0 vapeur fonctionne selon un cycle de compression de vapeur avanc\u00e9. Elle commence par absorber la chaleur industrielle r\u00e9siduelle \u00e0 basse temp\u00e9rature provenant des eaux us\u00e9es, des gaz d'\u00e9chappement ou de la chaleur exc\u00e9dentaire des processus pour \u00e9vaporer le r\u00e9frig\u00e9rant. La vapeur du r\u00e9frig\u00e9rant est ensuite comprim\u00e9e en gaz \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature et \u00e0 haute pression, ce qui lib\u00e8re de grandes quantit\u00e9s de chaleur. Cette chaleur se transf\u00e8re efficacement \u00e0 l'eau, g\u00e9n\u00e9rant directement de la vapeur \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature. Le r\u00e9frig\u00e9rant refroidi se d\u00e9tend et circule \u00e0 nouveau. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce syst\u00e8me en boucle ferm\u00e9e, la chaleur perdue est transform\u00e9e en vapeur utilisable avec une grande efficacit\u00e9, ce qui permet \u00e0 une unit\u00e9
