Environ 2% sont s\u00e9ch\u00e9es \u00e0 l'aide de pompes \u00e0 chaleur \u00e0 basse temp\u00e9rature et le reste \u00e0 l'aide d'autres technologies utilisant des chaudi\u00e8res \u00e0 \u00e9corce, \u00e0 gaz naturel ou \u00e0 mazout comme sources d'\u00e9nergie primaires. Toutefois, ces produits sont bien adapt\u00e9s au s\u00e9chage \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature. Deux prototypes de pompes \u00e0 chaleur \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature hybrides (\u00e9lectricit\u00e9\/fossile) \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle industrielle pour le s\u00e9chage du bois r\u00e9sineux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mis au point et \u00e9tudi\u00e9s au Canada.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"parastd\">Plusieurs am\u00e9liorations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 apport\u00e9es en termes de s\u00e9lection du fluide de travail, de contr\u00f4le du flux de r\u00e9frig\u00e9rant, de stabilit\u00e9 de fonctionnement du syst\u00e8me, de contr\u00f4le de la capacit\u00e9 de d\u00e9shumidification et de programmes de s\u00e9chage optimaux.
