FAQ à propos de notre pompe à chaleur

Frequently Asked Questions for Kolant heat pump

Si vous avez un problème ou une question qui n'a pas trouvé de réponse sur cette page, veuillez nous contacter

Q1:How does a heat pump work? Why does a heat pump save energy?

A heat pump uses a refrigeration cycle, just like your refrigerator or air conditioner. It does not generate heat itself — it simply extracts heat from the outside air and transfers it into the water. Because it only moves existing heat instead of creating it, it consumes much less energy than an electric or gas heater — typically saving up to 75%~80% on heating costs in kolant heat pump. So it can save energy.

Q2:What kind of heat exchange does Kolant heat pump use?

Q3:What is the exact temperature range that the unit will work within?

Kolant heat pumps are available in three series, each designed for a different operating range to match your local climate:

Heat pump series Operating range Best suited for
Kolant swimming pool heat pump -10°C to 43°C used in Mild and warm climates
Low-temperature heat pump -15°C to 43°C Cold climates
Kolant EVI heat pump Down to -35°C (lab-tested); -34°C recorded on site in Kazakhstan Extreme cold climates

Q4:Is it safe for Kolant heat pump operation?

Yes. Kolant heat pumps are built with high-quality insulation and electrical isolation to ensure safe operation. All models are designed to comply with international safety standards and are certified with CE / CB / RoHS/ UL.

As with any electrical appliance, safe operation depends on correct installation and proper usage. We therefore recommend that installation and maintenance be carried out by qualified technicians following the instruction manual.

Q5:Does the unit ever need draining?

When the air temperature is below 3°C, ice will build up on the evaporator because the moisture in the air will freeze after the heat is absorbed by the cold refrigerant. The unit will automatically defrost the ice by reversing the refrigerant flow. Ice will become water and be drained out of the unit through some holes in the bottom of the cabinet. So if the unit is used in such a low temperature, defrost water drains automatically — no manual draining needed.

Q6: What warranty and after-sales support do you provide?

We provide a 2-year warranty covering replacement of parts with factory defects.

As a standard policy, we also supply free spare parts with a value equivalent to 1% of the total order value, which our customers find sufficient for routine maintenance during the first two years of operation.

For urgent cases, we can ship the required spare parts by DHL to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Please note that our warranty does not cover damage caused by shipment, incorrect installation, or improper usage.

To make a warranty claim, please send us the model number, serial number and a brief description of the issue — our after-sales team will respond within 24 hours.

Q7:What about the payment terms?

For normal orders we request L/C or 30% prepayment to start production, balance to be paid before delivery.

Q8:What is the refrigerant gas and does it comply with European regulations?

For the European market, we use R32 and R290 refrigerants, which are:

  • Zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) — fully non-ozone-depleting
  • Low Global Warming Potential (GWP): R32 ≈ 675, R290 ≈ 3
  • Compliant with current EU F-Gas regulations

Both refrigerants deliver high energy efficiency. R32 is the mainstream high-efficiency choice, while R290 is a natural refrigerant with an extremely low GWP — an excellent option for customers prioritizing sustainability.

Please note: R290 is a flammable refrigerant (A3 safety classification), so R290 units must be installed by certified professionals in accordance with safety regulations.

Q9:Are there any restrictions as to where they can be sited?

There is almost no restriction for installation sites. But just need to keep some space for the ventilation.

Q10:Lead times for a container/part container?

Le délai de livraison pour une commande de conteneur est de 3 à 5 semaines, en fonction de la disponibilité du stock de composants.
