Con buen viento y tarifas el\u00e9ctricas altas, un propietario podr\u00eda recuperar la inversi\u00f3n inicial de una peque\u00f1a turbina e\u00f3lica en cinco o seis a\u00f1os. Pero con tarifas el\u00e9ctricas bajas y vientos marginales podr\u00eda tardar entre 15 y 20 a\u00f1os, dijo. <\/p>\n<p>La start-up 3Tier ofrece un mapa de recursos e\u00f3licos y solares, pero m\u00e1s detalles ayudar\u00e1n a optimizar la instalaci\u00f3n y evitar clientes insatisfechos. Southwest Windpower calcula que unos 13 millones de lugares en Estados Unidos son adecuados para su peque\u00f1o aerogenerador, que suele montarse en un poste.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAntes se necesitaban superordenadores Cray para generar mapas\u201d, afirma. \u201cAhora estamos en un punto en el que podemos fijarnos en esto y utilizar caballos de potencia m\u00e1s baratos para crear mejores mapas\u201d.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>El acceso a Internet tambi\u00e9n es importante para Southwest Windpower, porque algunas de sus turbinas llevan incorporada una red de \u00e1rea local. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNuestros aerogeneradores est\u00e1n controlados de forma inal\u00e1mbrica por Zigbee, as\u00ed que podemos monitorizarlos y darles una direcci\u00f3n IP en el router y desde ah\u00ed podemos ver el rendimiento y podemos cargar nuevo software\u201d, explica.<\/p>\n<p>La conectividad a Internet de banda ancha, sobre todo en zonas rurales con buen viento, dar\u00eda a Southwest Windpower la capacidad de detectar problemas a distancia. <\/p>\n<p>Como parte del programa de redes inteligentes, las empresas de servicios p\u00fablicos podr\u00edan utilizar esa conectividad a Internet para cambiar el voltaje de las turbinas e\u00f3licas de una zona y reducir as\u00ed la carga de la red, explic\u00f3 Kruse. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSe trata de un paso de gigante para nuestras m\u00e1quinas.
