Sep. 29, 2008 - Am 17. August 2008 wurde das erste geothermische System in Pal\u00e4stina auf einer Konferenz im Ramallah Grand Park Hotel vorgestellt. Die Konferenz war mit fast 100 Teilnehmern aus dem Westjordanland und \u00fcber eine Live-Videokonferenz mit weiteren 50 Teilnehmern aus dem Gazastreifen gut besucht. Das Pilotprojekt befindet sich im Stadtteil Etihad der Stadt Ramallah im Westjordanland. Es ist eine Einheit in einem Komplex von 62 \"konventionellen\" Doppelhaush\u00e4lften, die auf einer Fl\u00e4che von 24.000 m\u00b2 gebaut wurden. Die 390 m\u00b2 gro\u00dfe Demonstrationsvilla umfasst drei Stockwerke, ein begehbares Untergeschoss und eine Garage. Die Hauptelemente des Energiekonzepts f\u00fcr das Geb\u00e4ude sind eine gute Isolierung des Kellerbodens, der W\u00e4nde und der Fenster sowie die Nutzung von Erdw\u00e4rme. 10 vertikale Bohrungen, die jeweils 70 Meter tief sind, liefern gen\u00fcgend Energie f\u00fcr das 23 KW starke Heiz- und K\u00fchlsystem (2 W\u00e4rmepumpen), um die j\u00e4hrlichen Heiz- und K\u00fchlkosten von 3.300 US$ auf nur 850 US$ pro Jahr zu senken; das bedeutet eine Energiekosteneinsparung von \u00fcber 70%.
