Nov. 20, 2007 - The renovation of ASHRAE headquarters is expected to be completed in June 2008 at an estimated cost of $5.4 million. Once completed, the renovated building in Atlanta will feature two separate HVAC systems as part of its role as living lab.Level one of the building will be equipped with air-cooled multi-split variable refrigerant flow fan coil units with zoned inverter-driven outdoor heat pumps. Ground source direct expansion heat pumps will be installed for heating and cooling level two.
ASHRAE plans to apply for a LEED Gold certification under the U.S. Green Building Councils Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system.
